Response time

Each bar is one check from your browser while this page is open.

—latest

Updates every 30 seconds while this page is open.

Your browser asks the API for its health report and shows the answer. There is no server behind this page and nothing is stored, so it shows the state right now, not a history.

  • Activation and validation API is the public service your app calls: activate, validate, heartbeat and the rest of /v1.
  • License database is a round trip to the database that holds licenses and seats.
  • Rate limiting is a round trip to the store that counts requests per client.

Offline licenses do not call the API to check a token, so customers who hold a valid offline token keep working during an outage. See Reliability for how your app should behave when the API is slow or down.

Two public endpoints on https://api.waveformanager.com, no authentication, and the API does not rate-limit either:

  • GET /healthz is a cheap liveness check. It returns {"ok":true} while the process is serving.
  • GET /readyz is a full readiness check. It returns 200 when the database and the rate-limit store both answer, and 503 when either does not.
Terminal window
curl -s -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code} %{time_total}s\n" https://api.waveformanager.com/readyz

Point an uptime monitor at /readyz and alert on anything other than 200. A response looks like this:

{
"ok": true,
"checks": {
"database": { "ok": true, "ms": 4 },
"rateLimitStore": { "ok": true, "ms": 2 }
}
}

Both endpoints allow cross-origin GET requests, so you can also read them from your own status page.
